Tina: The First Day of the Rest of My Life

Good afternoon and Happy New Year’s!

New year,  new me! I’m so excited to begin this journey of a healthier lifestyle!

A little bit about me: My name is Christina (Tina) and I am 40 years old and I live in Southern Maine. Southern Maine is in a deep freeze right now, and I find that it might be a little difficult to change certain aspects of my life right now, such as exercising outdoors, but I’m determined to make a change in more than just my weight.

I have been suffering from depression for several years, and have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I am extremely overweight. My last weigh-in I was on the 390 pound mark. I was happy though, because I was around 20 pounds down from my last weigh-in, and I didn’t really do a whole lot different with my diet besides cutting down on food and sharing it instead of chowing down a whole meal on my own.

My biggest obstacle is exercise. We do have two sets of stairs that are pretty deep. The only hard thing is, is the pain. No pain no gain though, right? That is probably the thing I am LEAST excited about. Exercise. Ugh.

However, I am not expecting results right away. When I get paid, I am buying the Acti-Lab diet kit to shred some of this weight off. It’s one of those meal replacement shakes. Chocolate mint. Yum.

I’m honestly wondering if I should write a daily blog. I guess the more I blog, the more content I can release. We will be adding blogs, videos, recipes, etc. This blog will have its own domain on Wednesday!

  1. Wishing you the best of luck. For exercise I would suggest you start with yoga. There are lots of yoga videos on you tube. I’m going to be looking for one for myself. Yoga is not ment to hurt or strain. It’s about focus and balance. It helps to line up your bones and organs. Meditation is a huge part of it. It does strengthen firm your body. It takes limeted room to do as well. Ill be looking for a good beginner yoga video. You might want to check it out too. I think your blog is a great idea.
